At Dead Vlei, time stops. The silence is deafening.

Dead Vlei at Sossusvlei in Namibia is a salt and clay pan surrounded by orange-red Namib desert dunes. These high dunes have drawn me to Namib a couple of times in my life.

Sossusvlei is located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park of Namibia. This is my favourite place on earth. The landscape is a desert still life, unchanged. The fresh air and vast open spaces made me realise how small I am.

I value my heritage as an Afrikaner and an African.

Only 100 prints in various sizes and formats from limited editions will be made. So the edition size of the work is 100 prints + 5  AP (‘épreuve d'artiste’) +  2 TP (trial prints) to check colour, print quality and how ink takes to the chosen material.
